WORKS WITH THE WORLD BANK FOR OPTIMIZING THE OPERATION OF THE MINISTRY OF ECONOMY AND DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVING PRODUCTIVITY IN LINE WITH  THE NEW RECOVERY POLICY’S GOVERNMENT PRODUCTIVITY PILLAR.

Mr. S. Narantsogt, Vice Minister of Economy and Development met with Dr. Verena Fritz, Senior Public Sector Specialist of the World Bank, and provide information about the structure and functions of the ministry, its cooperation with other ministries, and exchanged views on international best practices of ministries responsible for economic and development policies and opportunities and actions to improve government productivity.

The parties emphasized the experience of the World Bank in supporting the Government of Mongolia in enhancing the capacity of government institutions and improving the budget, financial planning, and management. It was agreed to work closely with the World Bank in strengthening the capacity of the Ministry of Economy and Development and holding monthly joint discussions on the macroeconomic outlook in the future. 

During her mission in Mongolia, Dr. Verena Fritz will meet with other relevant ministries and agencies and present her recommendations to the ministry for further cooperation.
