During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on several topics including current economic situation of Mongolia, foreign investment environment, commodity markets, visas for traveling to Australia and Australia Awards.

Minister Ch.Khurelbaatar held a meeting with Mr. Niels Annen, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Mr. Jörn Rosenberg, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, and other official representatives.

Ministry of Economy and Development and Asian Development Bank within the framework of the Central Asian Regional Cooperation (CAREC) program co-organized "Forum on Developing Sustainable Economic Zones in the CAREC Region" and "Roundtable Series on Emerging Regional Trade, Transportation, and Logistics Landscape: Supply Chain Connectivity and Resilient Border Operations in the CAREC Region".

Mr. S. Narantsogt, Vice Minister of Economy and Development, met with Ms. Paramita Dasgupta, Manager East Asia Pacific, Regional Advisory at International Finance Corporation (IFC).

On August 22, 2022, Mr. Kh.Batjargal, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Development met with Mr. Nakazato Taiji, Head of the East and Central Asia Department of JICA, and his delegation.

SDGs are everyone’s business. These goals are to be achieved by all concerted and collective efforts by all stakeholders, including the Government, development partners, private sector, academia, civil society and last, but not least, by individual citizens.

The National Committee for Sustainable Development (NCSD), chaired by the Prime Minister of Mongolia, convened on 11 August 2022 and endorsed the draft of Integrated national financing strategy (INFS), prepared by the Government’s working group and United Nations in Mongolia. At the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, member states were advised to develop an "Integrated National Financing Strategy" aimed at fully mobilizing multiple financing sources for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Mongolia is one of the 86 countries around the world that are currently developing the Integrated National Financing Strategy for increasing, aligning, and mobilizing financing resources for SDGs.

Mr. S. Narantsogt, Vice Minister of Economy and Development met with Dr. Verena Fritz, Senior Public Sector Specialist of the World Bank, and provide information about the structure and functions of the ministry, its cooperation with other ministries, and exchanged views on international best practices of ministries responsible for economic and development policies and opportunities and actions to improve government productivity. The parties emphasized the experience of the World Bank in supporting the Government of Mongolia in enhancing the capacity of government institutions and improving the budget, financial planning, and management. It was agreed to work closely with the World Bank in strengthening the capacity of the Ministry of Economy and Development and holding monthly joint discussions on the macroeconomic outlook in the future.  During her mission in Mongolia, Dr. Verena Fritz will meet with other relevant ministries and agencies and present her recommendations to the ministry for further cooperation.

Mr. Narantsogt Sanjaa, the Vice Minister of Economy and Development held a meeting with Mr.Tran Quok Khanh, the Vice Minister of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and his delegation. During the meeting, parties exchanged views on overcoming the obstacles related to global increase of food prices, current regional situation, transportation and logistics problems. Parties mutually agreed on possible sectors to cooperate and increase import/export of strategically important products.  From being food importing country, Vietnam has now become the world’s 3rd largest rice exporter, fully self-sufficient in food and energy supply, ranks in the top 20 in terms of export and import, and is one of the few countries that continuously increased their turnover, keeping their economic growth at 2 percent during the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Mr.S.Narantsogt, the Vice Minister of Economy and Development received Mr. Hassan Zaman, the Regional Director, East Asia and Pacific for the Equitable Growth, Finance, and Institutions on 25 July 2022.

Mr. S. Narantsogt, the Vice Minister of Economy and Development, met with ADB representatives led by Mr. Thomas Panella, Director of Environment, Natural Resources & Agriculture Division of the East Asia Department, and Mr. Pavit Ramachandran, Country Director to discuss comprehensive approaches to solve the problems for ensuring stable food supply and security and coordinate the implementation of some agricultural sector’s projects in this direction.   Parties agreed to explore the further possibility of cooperation within ADB’s technical assistance on developing a national system for monitoring, tracking, and managing food supply and safety based on the existing IT infrastructure of the Government and improving the relevant legal framework.

Mr. S.Narantsogt, Vice Minister of Economy and Development, received the Ambassador-Designate of Ireland to Mongolia Ann Derwin. The Vice Minister of Economy and Development S.Narantsogt received the newly appointed Ambassador-Designate to Mongolia Ann Derwin. Ireland is one of the few countries that has shown sustained economic growth during the global Covid-19 pandemic and is home to the Pfizer vaccine. The Ambassador-Designate presented the experience of successfully attracting foreign investment, the strategy of developing the pharmaceutical industry in a cluster, and exchanged opinions on the possibility of cooperation in the fields of information technology and agriculture.

Mr. S.Narantsogt, Vice Minister of Economy and Development, held a meeting with the Executive Director of EuroChamber Mongolia Tomas Bravenec. The parties exchanged opinions on how EuroChamber's research and recommendations on improving Mongolia's trade, investment and business environment are aligned with the government's policy and agreed to jointly organize a B2B meeting to create and support the access of Mongolian entrepreneurs to the European market. The Vice Minister S. Narantsogt expressed his gratitude to EuroChamber for its valuable contribution to expanding European-Mongolian relations and intensifying mutually beneficial cooperation and expressed his support and cooperation in the future within the framework of the duties of the Ministry of Economy and Development.

The Vice Minister of Economy and Development S. Narantsogt met delegates led by Mr. Tapan Mishra, the UN Resident Coordinator in Mongolia, and agreed to cooperate on implementing the SDGs in coordination with the "Vision-2050" long-term policy, conducting public awareness campaigns on SDGs and “Vison-2050", and evaluating the implementation of the SDGs.  Moreover, the Ministry of Economy Development agreed to co-organize with the UN in Mongolia the 6th North-East Asia Multistakeholder Forum on Sustainable Development Goals on September 7-8, 2022 and SDG Open Day on September 10, 2022. 

During the meeting, the Vice Minister provided information on current economy, policy measures under the mandates of the Ministry of Economy and Development, and medium and long-term development policy documents.
