The Ministry of Economy and Development conducted a training on the topic “Developing National development plan for the year 2024 through result-based approach” in collaboration with the “SDG-aligned budgeting to transform employment in Mongolia” project implemented by United Nations Development Program with funding support from the European Union. It was held on January 5 and 6, 2023 including around 150 participants from the State Central and State Administrative Authorities.
The Resolution No. 470 of 2022 of the Government of Mongolia renewed the “Regulation on developing development policy and planning documents”, which enabled the conditions to develop each development policy document using a methodology that is consistent with its characteristics.
Accordingly, the "Methodology for developing the annual state development plan" was developed subject to the results-based approach with the above-mentioned United Nations Development Program project support, and approved by the order of the Minister of Economy and Development. This methodology aimed to draft the plan including results to be achieved in the current year, its measuring indicators, required finance, and its resources realistically, which are reflected in the long- and mid-term development policy and planning documents.
According to the Law on development policy, planning, and management of Mongolia, State Central and relevant State Administrative Authorities will submit their consolidated proposals to be included in the annual development plan to the Ministry of Economy and Development by January 15.
