A meeting of the Sub-Working Group on Enhancing Mining Exports, established under Order No. A/09 of 2025 by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Development, was convened.
The meeting reviewed the progress of Government Resolution No. 51 of 2025, “On Certain Measures to Promote Exports,” and assigned time-bound tasks to Sub-Working Group members. These tasks focused on improving the organization of transport vehicles at the "Gashuunsukhait" border checkpoint, expanding coal exchange trading, facilitating customs clearance, and simplifying customs control operations.
The Sub-Working Group resolved to urgently implement the following measures to fulfill the provisions of the Government Resolution, strengthen foreign currency reserves, and ensure the achievement of targeted coal export levels:
- The Mongolian Stock Exchange (MSE) to urgently adjust thermal coal prices in line with market index movements;
- Ensure 100% of coal transport vehicles traded through the exchange pass via the AGV smart checkpoint at Gashuunsukhait border;
- Deliver coal sample testing results within 48 hours from the Central Customs Laboratory and commission the branch laboratory at Gashuunsukhait border by September;
- Integrate data from accredited private laboratories into the unified customs information system and fully connect Gashuunsukhait customs control zones to the smart checkpoint system;
- Border and customs authorities shall ensure that drivers are not required to submit any paper documents when crossing the border.
The Sub-Working Group also serves the primary purpose of supporting the Working Group chaired by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Development, which was established under Order No. 41 of 2025 by the Prime Minister of Mongolia.
