International Trade Center’s (ITC) flagship annual event, the World Export Development Forum (WEDF) is underway to be organized in Ulaanbaatar on June 27-28, 2023, under the auspices of the President of Mongolia H.E. Mr. Khurelsukh Ukhnaa under the theme of "Diversifying Green Trade: Organic, Digital, Sustainable". The launch event of WEDF 2023 was held on February 15th, 2023, on the premises of ITC headquarters in Geneva.

The Ministry of Economy and Development conducted a training on the topic “Developing National development plan for the year 2024 through result-based approach” in collaboration with the “SDG-aligned budgeting to transform employment in Mongolia” project implemented by United Nations Development Program with funding support from the European Union. It was held on January 5 and 6, 2023 including around 150 participants from the State Central and State Administrative Authorities. The Resolution No. 470 of 2022 of the Government of Mongolia renewed the “Regulation on developing development policy and planning documents”, which enabled the conditions to develop each development policy document using a methodology that is consistent with its characteristics.

The roundtable was aimed to share good international practices of smart border crossings design, architectural layout reference guide, and the future of border crossings/disruptive technologies. Moreover, the roundtable is to help the government to prepare a BCP strategy and/or roadmap by considering: (i) smart and efficient planning practices; and (ii) practical guidance and recommendations for improving designs of BCPs using draft architectural design prepared for Bulgan BCP in Khovd province.

Read moreThe National Committee for Sustainable Development (NCSD), chaired by the Prime Minister of Mongolia, convened on 11 August 2022 and endorsed the draft of Integrated national financing strategy (INFS), prepared by the Government’s working group and United Nations in Mongolia. At the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, member states were advised to develop an "Integrated National Financing Strategy" aimed at fully mobilizing multiple financing sources for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Mongolia is one of the 86 countries around the world that are currently developing the Integrated National Financing Strategy for increasing, aligning, and mobilizing financing resources for SDGs.
